Pronombres de Objeto
Direct, indirect, and where they go
Object pronouns replace the noun receiving the action. Direct objects answer 'what?' or 'whom?'. Indirect objects answer 'to whom?' or 'for whom?'.
Direct objects
me, te, lo/la, nos, os, los/las. They replace the thing being acted upon: 'Compré el libro' → 'Lo compré'.
Indirect objects
me, te, le, nos, os, les. They replace the recipient: 'Di el regalo a María' → 'Le di el regalo'.
Order and placement
When both appear, indirect comes before direct: 'Me lo dio'. Before 'lo/la/los/las', 'le' and 'les' become 'se': 'Se lo dije'. Pronouns go before conjugated verbs, but attach to infinitives, gerunds, and affirmative commands.
Ejemplos
"Te lo explico mañana."
I'll explain it to you tomorrow.
"Voy a dárselo."
I'm going to give it to him/her.
"Dímelo otra vez."
Tell it to me again.
